1. My best artwork this semester is my cabin artwork. I am really happy with how this one turned out because it looks exactly like my cabin but smaller.
2. I would like to redo the non representational artwork because I feel like I didn't try my hardest on it and I wasn't very happy with how it turned out. 3. Things that I learned in art class this year would have to be the studio habits of mind. You can use those not just for art but for the outside world. You need to use all of the studio habits of mind to make good decisions. 4. I wish that could have had a little more time with the clay. I felt really rushed in the clay unit and I wish I could have gotten to explore more with the clay.

FOr my final artwork I decided to make clay letters spelling out my name. The E is all blue with a light pink and orange flower, a sun at the corner, a cloud, and grass. On the M the background is grey, there is a yellow moon in the middle top, an orange tent on the bottom left, and a tree on the bottom right. On the I the background is blue, there is a beach ball on the top right corner, and there is pink flip flops on the bottom center. On the L the background is orange, and there are green swirls. On the Y there is an orange background with pink stripes. I created my artwork with white clay. I made an E, M, I, L, and a Y to spell out my name. Then those got fired so that I could glaze the letters. Once they were fired I glazed them. This whole process took around 4 days. After I made a letter I would make a bowl just for fun. In this artwork I was trying to represent the things that I like to do. I like to go camping, swimming, and I love summer. I really just wanted to show the things that I like to do.My goals were to use the glaze and clay the way that I was thinking is my head and I definitely did that. I am very happy with how this artwork turned out, and I got to make bowls along the way!
So far for my final artwork I have the I and the E done. I am making sun, a flower, and grass on the e and on the I I have a beach ball and flip flop. So far I have used envision and develop craft for this artwork. I have to use envision to be able to figure out what I am going to put on each letter. So far my plans are going as I planned and they will stay the same for the whole artwork. I wish I had just a little more time so that I could have made the last two letters a little bit better.
For my clay artwork I used red clay and i was planning on making a bowl. I knew that I didn't want it to be just a regular bowl so I decided that I wanted to add something to it. I decided that flowers would add a cool touch so around the outside I put flowers going all around. I made the flowers purple with yellow on the inside and then I made the bowl blue to try to make it look like the sky. The inside I made the same yellow that I made on the inside of the flower. I am really happy with how my artwork turned out.
For this final artwork I plan to spell out my name with clay letters. On every letter there will be something different that I enjoy doing or places that I enjoy being. I am going to use express, stretch and explore, and envision for this artwork. Express is going to be the main studio habit of mind that I will use. I am going to be expressing all of the things that I enjoy to do. I am very excited to see how my artwork will turn out.
In my artwork that I made I used clay to make a sculptor of a girl sitting on a bench with a golf club leaning on her leg. The girl has a braid in her hair and it is laying on her back. She has a pink long sleeve and blue jeans on. She has black shoes. Her hair is brown. The bench she is sitting on is made clay but I tried to make it seem like it was made out of wood. To make my artwork I used clay and paint. First I started out with making the bench and then I started working on the girl. The big idea behind my artwork is that I love golf and golf is a big part of my life. My family and I have been golfing every since I was a child. In this artwork I am trying to express how much golf means to me and my family. My goals for this artwork were to try to make the girl look as realistic as possible. I think that I did a pretty good job at making the girl look close to realistic. I am very happy with how this artwork turned out.I definitely had to use invision for this artwork in order to prepare what step I was going to do next.
My plan for my figure sculptor has changed a lot. At first I was going to make the person standing up and swinging a golf club, but the i figured that would be a little bit too hard to make it stand on its own. So then i was thinking what else could I do. It took awhile for me to think what to do. Then I thought that I could make the person sitting on a bench taking a break or waiting. There is a braid in the girls hair, and she is sitting on the bench with a golf club leaning onto her leg. The reason why I chose to make this girl is because golf is my favorite sport and one of my favorite things to do in my free time. The reason why I made the girl waiting on the bench is because in golf you have to be patient with yourself, just like waiting. If you do not stay patient with yourself then you will struggle; as long as you are patient you will do good.
My artwork is a black box. On the inside the two longer walls are red and the two shorter walls are a teal. The bottom of the box has confetti on it and has a clear look. There is blue wire through the box kind of looking like a spider web. I created my artwork using paint and wire. I used black, teal, red, and confetti paint. I used wire to make the spider web looking thing on the top. I used blue wire. I didn't really have an idea for this artwork. I knew that I wanted to make a box and put wire through the top but I didn't know what colors or anything I was going to use. Once I saw the color options, I knew that I wanted to do red and teal. The outside looked to boring with just the cardboard color so I decided to paint it black. My goal was to make sure that it was nonrepresentational. I didn't want it to have any meaning. I like this artwork but it is not my favorite one. I like to make artworks that have meaning or that look like something that I know what it's supposed to be. Overall I am pretty happy that my artwork doesn't look like anything, and doesn't mean anything. I used observe in this artwork because I had to make sure that it meant absolutely nothing to me but it still looked the way I wanted it to look. I also had to stretch and explore because it was very hard for me to make something that didn't mean or look like anything to me. I have never made a non representational artwork before.
I made this artwork to resemble my cabin. I chose to do this because my cabin is one of my favorite places to be. My cabin is pretty simple looking. There is one main room, and it has an upstairs. The outside of the building is an orange/brown. The main roof just got reshingled, and instead of putting shingles back on they decided to put tin on instead. After a while we decided that we needed to add on the the cabin and make a kids room. There is now a little piece added on and it is perfect! It is the same color as the rest of the cabin except for there is shingles on this part of the cabin. There is a really small little cement slab outside of the door and a little roof over that.
I made my artwork all out of cardboard and paper tape. I used a ruler to figure out the right measurements. This part was actually kind of challenging. There was a few times when I had to recut some pieces because I had the wrong measurements, but i figured it out! To finish up the structure and give it some color I used acrylic paint. The big idea behind my artwork is my cabin. I love being at my cabin because there are so many activities that I love to do that I cant do at home. I love spending family time at the cabin with all of my cousins. We have been spending our open weekends there since I was born, and I wouldn't trade it for anything! My goal for my artwork was to make it resemble our cabin as much as it can. I want to be able to ask all of my cousins what they think it is and I want them to be able to figure it out right away. I am really happy with the way my artwork turned out. I am hoping to make more successful artworks like this one in the future! |
